From afar, I thought it was some sort of conifer with needles, but up close I realized the needles were actually large, stiff, bromiliad-type leaves, like pineapple tops.
Any ideas?

Mysterious spiky tree
I like plants and trees, but I'm not the best at identifying them. Perhaps someone out there can help me figure this one out.

i think it might be a monkey puzzle tree...
ReplyDeleteI stumbled upon your blog while looking up the name of a tree, which is the monkey puzzle. But yours seems to be different from the one I saw. Maybe it's a similar plant. If you still live in the UK and are ever near Bangor, Wales, go to Penrhyn Castle and the forest outside has a beautiful monkey puzzle tree.
